Who we are
Since 2006, Iota Production is supporting a new generation of directors who express themselves with sensibility, intelligence and some time a touch of humour about their actual concerns (filiations, difference, violence, affective blackmail ...). In 2008, we produced five short films.

IOTA produced first "La quadrature du cercle" (The squarle of the circle) by Guillaume Senez then "Michigan" by Olivier Burlet. Those films were selected in many international festivals (Clermont-ferrand, Oberhausen, Rotterdam …) and brodcasted. Today things are  going faster and we are producing this year five short "Classes vertes" (School Camp) and "Des amies qui t'aiment" (Friends who love you) by Alexis Van Stratum, "Dans nos veines" (In our veins) by Guillaume Senez, "Hors cadre" (Out of frame) by Laurence Bibot and "Eisbar" by Olivier Burlet and Frédéric Noirhomme.
Actualy, with some of these directors feature films are in development.

IOTA is producing with Les Films d'Ici the feature film "Le vertige des possibles" (Vertigo of possibilities) by Vivianne Perelmuter an is developing the first feature film by Philippe de Pierpont "Elle ne pleure pas elle chante" (She is not crying, she is singing).

As co-producer IOTA has participated to international coproductions of the feature films "Robinson or an other Day" by Yvan le Moine (2006), "Home" by Ursula Meier (2008) and the animation film "Brendan ant the secret of Kells" (2008).

IOTA is developing at the same time documentary films, about thirty have been produced since 2000 (portraits, questions of society, identity issues, autobiographic stories, investigations ...).

Our heart beats to the rhythm of films with a relevant and strong point of view and a coherent and a bold artistic approach.

 

The team

The team consist of Isabelle Truc (producer), Olivier Abrassart (head of production and post-production, Caroline Pirotte (production assistant), Anja Grunder (Post-production assistant)  and Maggy Souris (production administration). We call on numerous freelancers when necessary.

Isabelle chooses the projects, develops them closely with the directors, finds the financing and writes the contracts. She then follows the production through each step until they are released and live their lives. The list of tasks she has to undertake is long, dispelling the myth of the cigar-chewing producer with bags of cash.

Caroline assists Isabelle as a production assistant, it's a short title for a multiple work, from a tiny and delicate task to a big one, saving a risky situation.

Olivier joined us in early 2006. He is an accomplished director of production that throws himself whole-heartedly into the field to organise the shooting and handle the post-production. He supervises the financial part of our films or works in collaboration with free lance directors of production.

Anja manages our final cut pro editing bench and our technical equipment. She guides and follows step by step the work of the free lance editor. She also manages the post-production of our films.

Maggy handles the accounting and administration. Thanks to her, the company and individual films' accounts are updated daily.
