| Nuclear's workers (Working title) |
|
A documentary by Alain de Halleux
Therefore, the issue here is not whether we are for or against nuclear power but instead to see how it is used and developed. I am a portraitist. I primarily seek to present human beings and to convey not just their opinions but also their personalities using elements from their daily lives. I also want the viewer to feel part of the journey that I made. I must lead the viewer along so that he or she understands how the system works today and how it influences human relationships, the meaning of work and life itself.
52 and 80 min - Beta digital - 16/9 In coproduction with L'Indien Productions (Belgique), Crescendo Films (France). With the support of RTBF (télévision belge), Lichtpunt (Canvas), le Centre de l'Audiovisuel à Bruxelles (C.B.A.), Média Développement. |

Synopsis: Are you for or against nuclear power? Should this question prevent us from examining exactly how the nuclear industry operates today? Does it not move us away from the much needed social debate based on assessing the risks that we are prepared to accept, in order to harness energy extracted from the atom? The cacophony of dogmas and ideologies drowns out the voice of man, who, at the heart of the system, is the first link in the safety chain.
